Pricing
What weight-loss treatment actually costs.
There are two separate costs, and most services only tell you about one. Here are both.
The two costs, stated plainly
1. Your Docalo membership — €49/month
This covers the clinical service: licensed clinician review, care-team messaging, weight and symptom tracking, dose-change reviews, repeat-prescription support and pharmacy coordination. It is charged monthly and you can cancel at any time.
You are not charged during the assessment. Membership begins only at the payment step, after a clinician has reviewed your case. If the doctor decides treatment is not appropriate, you receive a full refund.
2. Your medication — paid at the pharmacy
If a doctor prescribes treatment, you collect the medication yourself from a physical pharmacy and pay that pharmacy's price. This cost is not part of your membership and Docalo does not receive any of it.
Prices vary by pharmacy, by product, by dose and over time, and they are set by the pharmacy and the manufacturer — not by us. Your pharmacy can quote you the current price. In Spain, weight-management medication is generally not funded by the public health system for obesity, so this is normally an out-of-pocket cost.
What the €49 includes
- Licensed clinician review of your case
- Care-team messaging for questions between reviews
- Weight and symptom tracking
- Clinical review when your dose needs to change
- Repeat-prescription support while treatment remains appropriate
- Pharmacy coordination so your prescription reaches a pharmacy that can dispense it
What it does not include
- The medication itself, which you pay for at your pharmacy
- Laboratory tests or imaging, if a doctor asks for them
- Care unrelated to weight management
- Scales, needles or sharps bins, if you choose to use them
Cancelling
You can cancel your membership at any time from your account. Cancelling stops future charges from the next billing date; it does not retroactively refund a month already used. Cancelling does not cancel a prescription you already hold — talk to a clinician before stopping treatment, because stopping abruptly has clinical consequences.
The one guaranteed refund is the clinical one: if a doctor reviews your case and decides treatment is not appropriate, you get your membership fee back in full.
Common pricing questions
- Do I pay anything to find out if I am eligible?
- No. The eligibility assessment is free, and membership starts only at the payment step after a clinician has reviewed your case.
- What if the doctor says no?
- You receive a full refund of the membership fee. You are never charged for a treatment decision that went against you.
- Why can you not tell me the medication price?
- Because we do not set it and we do not sell it. Pharmacies price medication themselves and prices change; quoting a figure here would be misleading. Your pharmacy can tell you today's price for what you have been prescribed.
- Will the public health system pay for it?
- In Spain, weight-management medication is generally not financed by the national health system for obesity, so patients normally pay privately. Rules differ by country and can change; your pharmacy or your own doctor can confirm your situation.
- Are there any other fees?
- No consultation fee, no prescription fee, no cancellation fee. The membership is the only charge Docalo makes.
Free assessment. Membership starts only after a clinician reviews your case.
