How it works5 questions
What exactly is Docalo?
A European telemedicine service. You answer a medical questionnaire, an EU-licensed doctor reviews it and, if appropriate, issues an electronic prescription you can use at pharmacies across the EU.
Is Docalo a legitimate medical service?
Yes. Docalo is operated by TrueNorth Telehealth, Inc., a company incorporated in the United States. Every case is reviewed by a doctor registered with their national medical council.
Do I need to travel or do a video call?
No. The consultation happens in writing. If the doctor needs more detail, they message you in your private chat.
Who reviews my case, and can I choose my doctor?
An EU-licensed doctor from our medical team. You'll see their name and registration number on your prescription.
How long does the consultation take?
About 5 minutes to answer. A doctor replies in under 2 hours on average.
Safety and medical judgement3 questions
Is it safe to be treated online?
The questionnaire screens for contraindications, and the doctor can ask follow-up questions, suggest another option, decline or refer you for in-person care.
What happens if my case isn't suitable?
The doctor explains why, and we refund the fee in full.
What if I have side effects?
Message your doctor in your account chat. For severe or sudden symptoms, call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Privacy and data2 questions
Is my data secure?
Your data is encrypted and stored inside the EU under GDPR. We never use it for marketing without your consent.
Can I delete or export my data?
Yes. Write to hello@docalo.com and we'll send you a copy or delete it. This covers your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability; we respond within 30 days. Some health records must be retained for 5 years after the last consultation to meet applicable medical-legal duties.
Pricing and payment3 questions
How much do the plans cost?
Weight loss €49 a month; hair growth €49 a month (billed €49 monthly); sexual health €49 and dermatology €49, one-off.
Is the medication included?
No. You pay the pharmacy for any medicine, at the price it sets.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Payment is taken at the end of the questionnaire and refunded in full if the doctor doesn't approve treatment.
Prescription and pharmacy3 questions
Do you deliver medication to my home?
No. Docalo doesn't sell or ship medication. You collect it at the pharmacy you choose.
Does it work if I live in France, Germany or Portugal?
Yes. The e-prescription meets EU Directive 2011/24/EU for cross-border recognition. The pharmacist may dispense a locally marketed equivalent.
How long is my prescription valid?
Your doctor can renew it within your plan. The doctor states the treatment duration when issuing it; typically 3–6 months for chronic treatments and 1 month for acute ones.
Eligibility3 questions
Who can use Docalo?
Adults aged 18 and over who can collect their medicine at a pharmacy in the EU.
Can I continue a treatment I already have?
